State of the LegalTech Market in Southeast Asia whitepaper

ASEAN LegalTech Association (ASEAN LegalTech) based in Singapore is an association of LegalTech firms, legal technologists, law firms, legal departments, regulators and individuals in South East Asia

They are currently comprised of representatives from all over ASEAN which includes Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam & Phillipines.

Law Society (LawSoc) of Singapore encourages Law Firms to embrace new technology

At an event held on the 15th of May, 2019 in Singapore, The SmartLaw Guild, the Law Society of Singapore in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications & Information advocated to all Law Firms to accelerate adoption of new technologies in order to stay relevant & competitive.

In order to encourage this, the Singapore Government has allocated S$3.68m to support the implementation of such technologies.

Our very own CoreMatter was mentioned as such a solution to facilitate this effort. Currently, we have a few hundred law firms with thousands of users, spread throughout South East Asia, including Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei!

Our development team spent most of 2018 updating all of our products to our new Fifth Generation paradigm. Print management, scanning/routing and cost recovery are now fully decoupled from cost recovery. Our new Command Center provides true load balancing and fail-over functionality. All functions are now within our software, so there is no need to switch back and forth from the native copier screen. And workflows are now easier to setup and can be accessed with a single button.

What’s So Important about Queues?
nQueue’s InfoRoute 5 includes a new feature called “queues,” which allow a user to scan and process a document, but have it queue up in a holding place for manual intervention. Once it is released from this queue, the document automatically continues to its intended destination. Why is this important? Quality assurance is just one of the use cases. Scanned documents can be QA’d for OCR and scan accuracy—
and still end up where they belong in the DMS.

For example, if you are scanning a document to be routed to your DMS and want to QA it, you can put it in a queue and have it stop first for QA. Once that is done it will then proceed automatically to wherever you sent it, with no need to re-input the final destination.

LexTech Conference 2018 – 25th – 26th October 2018, Mercu UEM Sentral, Kuala Lumpur

At the recently concluded LexTech Conference, which was held at Mercu Uem, in Kuala Lumpur on 25th-26th October 2018, endeavours to focus on technologies & solutions specifically for the Legal Industry. Sales Service Tax (SST) Event – 1st & 8th September 2018, Kelab Golf Negara Subang
